Tommy was such a good boy! I only had him about 8 1/2 months; much too short. He was in an ad in the paper from the local shelter & I fell in love with his photo, so went to meet him. When I met him I knew he had to come home with me. His original mom apparently had dementia and had to go to a nursing home, so Tommy was surrendered to the shelter. The neighbor who brought him in didn't know his name, age, or medical history. The shelter named him Thomas.

Tommy adjusted in no time at all to his new home with me. He was so mellow and friendly! He loved everyone. He climbed up onto my bed then onto my chest and went to sleep, and he was a big weight! He weighed 15 lbs. and was quite solid. Everyone who met Tommy fell in love with him, even my neighbor who said she didn't like cats. LOL

Three days ago Tommy stopped eating and didn't get up on my bed. I knew something was wrong, and took him to his doc. Tests showed he had acute renal failure, a greatly enlarged heart, and lab values totally off the charts. He was in critical condition with not long to live. I was stunned. His vet even cried. I couldn't let him suffer. He is at the Rainbow Bridge now and I am devastated.
